What You Need To Know About The Lung Function Supplements

The lungs are the answer to the oxygen into the blood steam. They are said to contain expectorant properties which come in handy in the treatment of the common cold, sore throat, cough, asthma, and many other respiratory conditions. The other category of supplements to look for includes fenugreek, slippery elm, and licorice among others.

Vitamins and minerals too can do wonders to the respiratory organs. In fact, a daily multivitamin and occasional single nutrient are recommended. Vitamin E is considered the most important of all vitamins as far as respiratory protection is concerned. It takes up residence in the cell membrane, hence shielding the lung cells from the harms that results from the smoke, smog and other pollutants.

The vitamins and the minerals too play a vital role in keeping the respiratory organs healthy and properly functioning. Most important of these are Vitamin E and Vitamin C. Vitamin C takes up any resident in the cell membrane which help protect the organs from smog, smoke, and other environmental pollutants. Vitamin C should be taken in a dosage of 600 IU, while, vitamin C, the other important vitamin, has a recommended daily dosage pegged at 200 mg per day.

Vitamin C is the other vitamin that consists of potent properties that make them antioxidant. A dosage of 200 mg of vitamin C improves lung performance, with the results proving to better than those on lower or even higher dosage. However, this vitamin can also come from fruits like guavas, acerola cherries and citrus fruits.

There are several supplements available in the market, the majority now sold on the online shops. As such, the search should start from these sites. More important, though, each of these supplements is unique in their own ways. As such, it is important to search for information in regards for each particular product. Secondly, the doctor must be involved before resorting to any given product so that they do not cause complication or any unpleasant side effects.
